ECO BRASS® Is Your Lead-Free Solution

ECO BRASS® C69300 is your lead-free brass rod, high performance, solution.

C69300 is available in either round or hexagon bars, with diameters from 0.250” – 2.500” in round and 0.375” – 2.00” in hexagon with lengths of 12 feet. In its cast alloy Eco Bronze C87850 it is also available in hollow bar and larger diameter round bars with 105” lengths.

ECO BRASS® is eco-friendly and has excellent machinability, hot forgeability, strength equivalent to stainless steel, and corrosion resistance equivalent to commercial bronze. ECO BRASS® eliminates the problems of stress corrosion cracking and dezincification corrosion, which are disadvantages of traditional brass materials. It has good fluidity and good castability making it highly suitable as a casting alloy. With ECO BRASS®, it is possible to produce any shape, whether it be rod, forged, or cast. In addition, it has excellent polishing and plating capabilities, and it easily accepts solder and brazing.

ECO BRASS® C69300 is commonly used in water supply fittings and fixtures and meets US EPA standards for antimicrobial properties. It is compliant with the United States Federal Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974, which was originally signed by President Ford. ECO BRASS® allows manufactures to comply with stringent lead-free NSF14 Annex G requirements which President Reagan amended to the Act in 1986 and is also compliant with S.3874 Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act signed in 2011.

C69300 is also widely used in PEX fittings, stop valves, ball valves, automotive parts, electric and electronic equipment parts, and both commercial and residential water faucet parts.

In addition to being lead free, ECO BRASS® rod and ingot properties are arsenic free and bismuth free. It is a boiler and pressure vessel code registered alloy. It is a free-cutting copper alloy that can satisfy the ELV and RoHS regulations, and make it possible to reduce the size and weight of parts by using superior characteristics. The wear loss of ECO BRASS® is only 1/50 as compared to C3604.
