OUR HISTORY
In 1881
a German immigrant named Valentine Seeger started his own business
selling brass, copper, and babitt metal in Toledo Ohio. It was called
Toledo brass and Iron Works. Since that time 5 generations of Seegers
have been involved in the business and more than 122 years have past.
The
company has endured through World War I and the Great Depression. In
1936 Valentine Seeger III renamed the business The Seeger Brass Company.
During World War II when Valentine Seeger III was called to serve for
his country, his mother Dorothy Seeger ran the business in his absence.
In
1978, as the company expanded into stainless steel, aluminum, and
plastics the name was changed to Seeger Metals and Plastics to better
represent the full line of our products and services. The company also
moved from its downtown Toledo location to a more accessible location in
North Toledo.
Today
the Seeger family continues to serve their customers with the 4th and
5th generations. |
